Librarian - Distinction Can Do #20

Librarian - On Monday It was Sam W, Monique, Samara and my turn to do librarian. Once the bell for lunch rang we all walked outside. After this we chose two books and then we walked down to the junior area. Once we were all there Samara and I started walking around and asking the juniors if they wanted to come and listen to a book. Sam W had already started her book by the time we got back. We all sat down and listened to her read. After she had read her book it was Monique's turn, some juniors were being annoying and started throwing balls at us whilst she was reading so Samara and I got up and went to ask them not to. Once Monique had finished reading we left. As we started walking back to the library the juniors started to follow us. We asked them to leave but they didn't so we said they could walk back to the library with us and then they had to go back to the junior area. Once we had put our books away the bell rang so the juniors went back to class anyways. The care value that I showed this week was respect because I asked the kids throwing the balls at us nicely to move somewhere else because we were reading.

Kapa Haka - Distinction Can Do #19

Kapa Haka - On Friday the year 4 - 8 students had kapa haka. Once the year 7/8 students had been released from class I grabbed my poi on the way out and started walking over to the hall foyer. Once I got to the hall foyer I took my shoes off and sat them down on a seat. Once I got to the hall I went and sat down in our new lines below the stage. As we were getting ready for the Gala on Friday we went through our gala routine - He Honore, Pa Mai, Ka Wiata and Taitapu. After we had been through this and got it perfected Mrs Baker and Matua came around to make and extra line as all of us weren't going to fit on the stage. Once we had made our new lines we all mixed up then went back into our lines to make sure that we knew where we were standing. After this we went through our routine again and then we were released. The care value that I showed during kapa haka was Respect as I waited quietly whilst they were making new lines even though I wasn't getting moved.

Librarian - Distinction Can Do #18

Librarian - On Monday It was Sam W, Monique, Samara and my turn to do librarian. Once the bell for lunch rang we all walked outside. After this we chose two books and then we walked down to the junior area. Once we were all there Samara and I started walking around and asking the juniors if they wanted to come and listen to a book. Sam W had already started her book by the time we got back. We all sat down and listened to her read. After she had read her book it was Monique's turn, some juniors tried to sit on her lap whilst she was reading but I got them off and then Monique started reading. Once Monique had finished reading we left. As we started walking back to the library the juniors started to follow us. We asked them to leave but they didn't so we said they could walk back to the library with us and then they had to go back to the junior area. Once we had put our books away the bell rang so the juniors went back to class anyways. The care value that I showed this week was showing respect to others as I had to let the little kids down gently when they kept trying to follow us back to class.
